Interested persons have chances to share experiences, learn and gain knowledge on the latest trend and future of the industry and market with the discussion “Supply Chain Change Value Chain” operated by Mr Pairoj Santanirand, Director General of Food Sanitation Division, Department of Health, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration or B.M.A.; Mr Phusit Phensiri, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University; and Mr Boonchawee Chuasiriwat, Operation Manager of SGS (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
Mr Pairoj Santanirand, Director General of Food Sanitation Division, Department of Health, B.M.A. said that the R&B 2011 event is the important chance for government and private sectors to join hands to encourage the food industry operators to improve their potential and grow stably. Operators should adjust themselves to the fluctuation on economic. According to B.M.A. major policy, aiming at building strong supply chain by pushing forward Bangkok to be the world travelling city. One of the important role is to promote Bangkok to be the city of safety food by joining with Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University to launch the project titled “Bangkok Green Restaurant” which aims to encourage restaurants to produce safety foods, and adhere to food and environment sanitation. B.M.A. and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University will be responsible for supply chain system and inspection on international standard to improve the standard to be more satisfy by customers.
Mr Phusit Phensiri, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University said that food service market last year grew 60% despite the fact that there were political and economic crisis. This year, the market growth will be higher if the operators concentrate on their partners and customers, develop their business with lateral thinking, applying technology to strengthen their potentiality. At R&B 2011 event, there are financial support, training and seminar on technologies for building business opportunity for all level of restaurant operators.
For the private sectors, Mr Boonchawee Chuasiriwat, Operation Manager of SGS (Thailand) Co., Ltd. unvealed that supply chain is important for business development which will help to standardized management and increasing efficiency in profit for food and service industries. SME product manufacturers have to aggregate to increase their bargaining power. Food industrial product manufacturers have to develop new innovations for customer choice. The production sectors are expected to increase 1.6% this year whereas 4.3% in 2010. In 2010, restaurant business in Horeca group increase 30%.
