Singapore’s premier music venue showcases exhilarating performances from International stars
Mosaic Music Festival 2012 @ Esplanade: From 9 March to 18 March 2012
Esplanade Theatres on the Bay’s awe-inspiring 1,600 seat concert hall and proscenium arch theatre play host to a weeklong festival showcasing some of the most exciting acts from around the globe. Headline artists include Stacey Kent who will be singing a selection of tracks from her eight bestselling albums, British orchestral rock supergroup Elbow, and “Imagine a Soundtrack to Peace”; an assembly of Singapore musicians and international guests who together invite guests to an evening of musical collaborations that inspire hope and expression.
The festival will also present a series of free musical shows and artistic attractions, including the Mosaic Music Station with the Darren Moore Quintet, jazz innovators Tokyo Blue and Thailand’s own Desktop Error; a hard and energetic ensemble inspired by the alternative sounds of 90’s Britpop. The HTC Living Room will host Singapore singer-songwriter Wayne Sandz, augmented by the festival’s incredible “Inside” – a display of artistic progression by artists from Thailand, China and Singapore.
Mosaic presents more outlets for audio expression than a traditional festival offering, with musical styles encompassing everything from Latin jazz and Spanish Flamenco to the avant-garde Finnish accordion and Japanese bass fusion. This is a musical journey which will take visitors to the very edge of what is imaginable, in a world of influences from yesteryear right through to the exciting innovation of a musical tomorrow.
